Yannick van Grunsven

Yannick van Grunsven grew up in a family where horses, sport and daily horsemanship have always been part of life. Surrounded by top-level equestrian sport from a young age, he developed his own path in showjumping, combining training, competition and the development of sport horses.

Through Grunsven Equestrian, Yannick focuses on carefully selected showjumping horses, personal management and long-term relationships with owners and clients. His approach is honest, practical and built around trust, clear communication and a strong feeling for each horse.

The origin

The Van Grunsven name has been connected to equestrian sport for more than fifty years. What started with horses at home and a strong passion for the sport grew into a family environment built around training, discipline and horsemanship.

Growing up in this setting gave Yannick a natural understanding of sport horses, daily management and the trust needed around each horse. This background now forms the foundation of Grunsven Equestrian: personal, focused and built on patience, quality and a clear long-term plan.

Breeding & Sports

Breeding and sport are at the heart of Grunsven Equestrian. Within the family, the goal has always been to develop horses from strong bloodlines and prove their quality through training and competition.

This connection between breeding and sport shapes the way we look at every horse. A good sport horse starts with the right genetics, but is built through patience, education and experience in the ring.

Gaining national recognition

Yannick built his own experience through pony, junior and young rider sport, competing both nationally and internationally. He represented the Netherlands in youth Nations Cups and gained valuable mileage in international classes, including CSI3* level.

Alongside his own sport career, Yannick gained experience through internships and training periods at globally respected showjumping stables. These years helped him understand both sides of the sport: developing horses in the ring and recognizing their commercial potential.

LComing from a family connected to the highest level of equestrian sport has shaped the way Yannick looks at horses and performance. Top sport is not only about talent, but also about structure, consistency, management and the right decisions at the right time.
